AGVCR is available for Linux, Windows and Mac OS X. While tested on all released platforms to see that it is usable, it should be pointed out that it has been tested more on its development platform, Linux. I like and develop on Debian Sarge.

AGVCR is released under the GNU General Public License (GPL).

Before downloading, please Read the Installation Instructions, and make sure you have all prerequisites before trying to run or compile AGVCR

AGVCR Downloads - Current version: 2.2.1

Installer package

Windows installer package for AGVCR 2.2.1 that contains the GTK run-time, media tools and the current version of AGVCR Launcher. It will automatically register AGVCR Launcher with all AG toolkits present on the system, AG 2.x and 3.x. Windows users are encouraged to use the installer for ease of installation and future upgrade. If you download this, you do not need to download anything else.

Mac .app bundle

Mac .app bundle of AGVCR 2.2.1 (for PowerPC) that contains the GTK run-time and media tools and the current version of AGVCR Launcher. You will still need to manually install AGVCR_Launcher even with this bundle. Follow the installation instructions for AGVCR_Launcher. A Universal binary version of the bundle is planned for future release.

AGVCR Launcher

AGVCR Launcher is a Shared Application for the AccessGrid toolkit. It is a Python program that runs the AGVCR executable and works on all platforms supported by the AccessGrid Venue Client. Please see the documentation on the launcher for more information and how to install it. It is possible to combine the Launcher and the Standalone components if the host machine cannot have the GTK runtime files installed normally for some reason.

Windows Standalone Run-time

A minimal set of files required for a Windows based run-time environment of AGVCR is here (suitable for placing on a CD/DVD). This zip file contains the GTK libraries and the Windows media tools VIC and RAT, but does not contain the AGVCR program itself. Please unpack the file into the directory where you unpack the run-time (note that the archives do not make directories). Use the batch script to start AGVCR and nothing will need to be installed on the host machine.

MBone Media Tools

AGVCR uses VIC and RAT in order to play back recorded conferences. To save having to install the AccessGrid software and place executables for VIC and RAT in the user's path, I have the compiled versions from the AccessGrid toolkit in a convenient downloadable form here for Linux, Windows and Mac OS X.
